Vermeerens Barbados Bridgetown Mission

Friday Has quickly come again! It has been quite a week! Last Friday everyone stocked up on water, supplies, ect., preparing for the onset of Hurricane Tammy. A Great Family Fun Night of Karaoke was enjoyed by all! After clean up and preparing to leave, the rains and winds of Hurricane Tammy descended upon us. All schools and business were closed down . Even Church was cancelled. Everyone was asked to stay off the roads. We all remained in our Flats with hurricane walls placed over the windows and doors. We listened to the rain come down in its fury, but as it was only a category one , other than lots of rain, thunder , wind, flooding in the streets, and some falling rock, it was a pretty  uneventful few days in our flats. It was a wonderful feeling to be free to leave again. We enjoyed a chance to have Sunday Dinner and a Great Testimony meeting together.  Hello From St. Maarten! We have yet another Elder Vermeeren in the Mission Field! Austin now wears the Missionary badge. He has started his mission training! It is such an honour to be able to serve this mission at the same time as four of our seven grandchildren who have served missions so far. We are delighted there are still many more to serve. We are indeed BLESSED!!! This week has been a great one from start to finish.... A Fun Family Games night began the week. Lots of Happy Smiles and New Friendships!  We hosted Sunday Dinner for the Kirkham's, the Humanitarian Couple, and the Sister Missionaries. A P-Day Stop at Mullet Bay. Enjoying the Missionaries in their new companionships! A Day with the Kirkham's Fort Louis was Beautiful! Then back to reality as the Sisters gave us a few hours to help prepare Zone Conference Lunch. Zone Conference is Always a Spiritual Feast!                            Happy B...
